Here is one place you can’t get even no matter how hard you try…
Tuesday, April 10th, 2007Ever have a problem with the Post Office? Ever try and get some satisfaction or even a refund? It is easier trying to pull your own teeth than trying to get a straight answer from anyone at the Post Office. Where do they find the clerks that work at the desks? Some are just totally out to lunch and clueless. At our local Post Office we had two clerks that could not give the correct change back to save their life. How difficult is that? I once went in and asked for a rather complicated (at least according to the clerk) array of stamps. The women was so confused that after trying to figure it out for 25 minutes (no lie) she ended up giving me the stamps for free and $20.00 more than I orginally gave her. She lasted a few weeks and then went off to the loney farm I guess. At our local post office we also had one of the older guys reach over the counter and punch out a customer. Good old Jack got an early retirement. I had a package that was recently insured and had the following words written on it in red “DO NOT BEND.” It was a valuable photo that was really well packaged. So what does the post man do? He folds the package down the middle and ruins my Mickey Mantle photo that I had sold on eBay. Good luck trying to get any money back even though it was insured. The post master told me it was packaged improperly. How would he know that he never saw the orginal package that had multiple layers of cardborad surrounding the picture. But after the post man must have jumped on it to bend it it wasn’t worth much. After three months and no refund I gave up.
